IBO-PYP

PYP (Primary Years Programme)

The PYP is a transdisciplinary curriculum framework for children aged 3-12. It builds on research and best practices to create a learning experience that is engaging, relevant, and challenging. The program focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, emphasizing concepts, skills, and attitudes.

One of the central goals of the PYP is to foster student agency, enabling students to become independent and self-regulated learners. At AREL College, the PYP is integrated with the Ministry of National Education (MEB) curriculum. MEB units are mapped across the school’s Programme of Inquiry (POI) under six transdisciplinary themes, encouraging students to find answers to "big questions" rather than rote memorization. Our aim is to equip students with ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills to navigate and access information in a rapidly changing world.
