Academic Program
At AREL Middle School, the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) is implemented. Through this programme, students are raised as self-confident and responsible individuals who are inquisitive, questioning, capable of critical and multidimensional thinking, effective communicators, and sensitive to global issues. At the end of the MYP process, students receive internationally recognized MYP Certificates.
In addition, at AREL Middle School, which adopts a student-centered approach to education, a project-based educational system incorporating modern teaching methods and focusing on the development of individual skills is implemented. With its strong academic program and international educational approach, students are thoroughly prepared for the next stage of their education.
Foreign language education is conducted by a strong academic staff consisting of experienced Turkish and foreign teachers specialized in their fields. Throughout the educational process, a communication-oriented, project-based, and theme-based learning approach that emphasizes accurate language use is adopted. In addition to intensive English education, German and Spanish are offered as second foreign languages. Through various practices and activities, intercultural awareness is fostered while students are encouraged to use their language skills effectively in daily life. AREL College is an official Cambridge Assessment examination center. Accordingly, students have the opportunity to participate in Cambridge English international examinations (Flyers, KET, PET) and certify their language proficiency with internationally recognized certificates.
In order to prepare students for nationwide central examinations, intensive studies utilizing different teaching techniques are conducted. The preparation process for the High School Transition System (LGS) is carried out systematically through remedial courses based on the mastery learning model, individualized study programs, and assessment and evaluation practices. Each student’s academic development is planned and supported according to their individual needs. Students are guided throughout the national examination preparation process with personalized study plans.
At AREL College, the “classroom by subject” system begins at the middle school level. Within this system, each teacher conducts lessons in classrooms specifically assigned and equipped according to the requirements of the subject area. In this way, an effective learning environment is created where students remain continuously active while improving their time management and planning skills.
With the responsibility of being global citizens and the support of their advisor teachers, AREL Middle School students implement projects that they manage themselves. Through individual and group work, as well as national and international projects and competitions, they successfully represent their school. In addition to academic achievement, every student is supported in social, cultural, and artistic fields. Students develop in a multidimensional way through laboratory studies that enhance scientific thinking skills, art activities that strengthen creativity, sports activities that reinforce team spirit, and social responsibility projects that increase social awareness. Through the “Community Service” activities organized every year, students learn the value of cooperation and contributing to society through direct experience. Collaborative projects carried out with non-governmental organizations enable children to develop social awareness and empathy from an early age.
