Shannon de Groot is the Head of Professional Development with the International Baccalaureate (IB) a non-profit global education organization servicing 3,747+ IB world schools whose European global centre is located in Den Haag, The Netherlands. The IB has been actively engaging within the International academic curriculum sector since 1968 and has grown to offer 4 programmes (PYP, MYP, DP and IBCP).

Shannon de Groot has extensive experience relevant to delivering high quality International Professional Development (PD) trainings, events and conferences within the non-profit education sector. Shannon has worked with IB since 2011 and is responsible for servicing IB world school communities within the Africa, Europe and the Middle East region on their Professional Development and continuing education needs. In her current role as the Head of Professional Development (PD), she is responsible for 22 partnering organizations/companies and the management, planning, contracting, budgeting and marketing of all PD activities and conferences within a global quality assurance framework. Her previous International roles in continuing education and event management have all consistently linked to educational industries, supporting a strong background delivering quality training to academically advanced stakeholders. Shannon is currently completing an online MBA with Roehampton University, motivated to continue a path as a lifelong learner in order to improve her abilities as part of a global community of leaders, strengthening and broadening continuing education for adult learners across the globe.
